I am listening

Seriously.
No poem today. My poems will come.
They pour from the inside out.
Always with a little fear of who will hear and how.
Always with a tender shove at the small of my back.
Always with a prayer, I will be open to the kind words
and listen carefully to my fear speak as I walk in a forest of silence
where my imagination runs through rooted undergrowth.
Right now. I need to hear from you.
What do I need to know about your life right now?
What are you hungry to hear? To read? To taste?
What excites you? What scares you? I have no prescriptions
but a safe oasis from the sway of praise and blame.
I do want to understand. To stand with you as much as you are willing.
In sign language, the sign for “understand” is a combination of two signs.
Use and Know. To understand is to use what we know.
To understand is to flex our compassion into action.
I am listening.

I have two friends who have gifts to share, who are finding their voice and are worth your time to read. I am listening to them. They will not tell you how to think or feel, but they will, perhaps, spark a memory or a hope or a love worth your hearing or a grace that will feed you. Here are their links:
