Three Books
I felt the need to point again…to be an actor on the stage who has few lines but serves to focus the wandering attention of the audience to important stuff.
Three books that caught my attention:
Ann Patchett’s essays tapped into a tender, not-sappy, authentic humanity that needed to reach inside my very isolated existence.
A Rhythm of Prayer. This collection of meditations edited by Sarah Bessey are voices and heartbeats to provide a conduit for divine connection in a time that feels completely unholy.
If you have been reading ELOGOS for awhile, most of these short essays of mine are familiar. This book Wellspring Simple represents pieces of me, edited to bring out the best to help readers revisit their own pieces of humanity and extends an invitation to conversation we have all been missing.
What I like about all three of these books is that they are as much about the reader as the writers. You will pull yourselves through these books and like yourself a little better when you do.
Peace,
Deb
